The Correct Dumpling Recipe
The whole answer, up front:
- Filling — pork, tofu, onion, cabbage, sesame oil, garlic, spring onion. All seven, nothing else.
- Dough — wheat flour and water. Those two only.
- Fold and cook — long half-moon + pan-fry, coil + steam, coil + boil, or crumpled + boil.
There are no hidden ingredients and no secret ending. Play the dumpling game and this will pass every time.
Why the filling is so easy to get wrong
| In | Out |
|---|---|
| Pork | Egg |
| Tofu | Crackers |
| Onion | Chili pepper |
| Cabbage | Cheese |
| Sesame oil | Gochujang |
| Garlic | Mayonnaise |
| Spring onion | Shrimp chips |
The set has to match exactly. Missing one fails; adding an eighth on top of a perfect seven fails just the same. Egg catches people out most often — it belongs in plenty of real dumpling fillings, but not in this one.
The dough works the same way. Wheat flour and water, and nothing added on top of them.
Shape and heat as a pair
| Boil | Pan-fry | Steam | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Long half-moon | ✗ | ✓ | ✗ |
| Coil | ✓ | ✗ | ✓ |
| Crumpled | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ |
Every shape has at least one cooking method that works, and every cooking method has at least one shape — so a shape can never be wrong by itself, only mismatched. The coil passes with both steam and boil, which makes it the safe choice.
The fastest clean run
- Pick pork, tofu, onion, cabbage, sesame oil, garlic and spring onion. Count them before moving on.
- Pick wheat flour and water.
- Fold it into a coil.
- Boil it.
- The owner laughs, and the rival shop across the street turns into a bakery.
"I had everything right and still failed"
Almost always the dough or the shape-and-heat pair, not the filling. The original game blamed the filling for every kind of mistake, so players kept rewriting a filling that had been correct all along. Check in this order: dough first, then the shape and heat pair, then the filling last.
Normal mode on this page points at the part that failed and keeps the steps you already got right when you retry. Classic mode keeps the original's silence. The answers are identical in both.
Where the "bug recipes" came from
The long, strange ingredient lists you still find online are leftovers from a flaw in the original: adding an ingredient changed your score, removing it did not give the points back, so pressing a good ingredient over and over pushed you past the pass mark whatever your actual recipe was. Those lists were a workaround for not knowing the answer, not a shortcut for knowing it. This remake has no score at all — it compares the set you chose against the correct one — so none of them work here, and none of them are needed.

Recipe FAQ
Do I have to use all seven fillings?
Yes. All seven must be in, and a single missing one or a single extra makes the batch fail. It is an exact set, not a score.
Can I use just flour for the dough?
No. Wheat flour and water, both of them, and nothing else. Adding anything on top of the correct pair fails the same way as leaving one out.
Which shape is the safest?
The coil. It passes with both steaming and boiling, so it leaves the least room for error at the cooking step.
Are there hidden ingredients or secret endings?
No. There is one correct recipe and two endings, success and failure. The old Flash original had a scoring flaw that let people brute-force a pass, which is where the 'secret recipe' lists online came from.
