This page lets you play a free, independently made puzzle inspired by Block Blast right in your browser, with nothing to download or install. blockblast.co is not affiliated with Hungry Studio. The original app and this browser game use separate rules and scoring; the guide below explains this site’s game.

• The board is 8×8.
• Each round you get 3 blocks. When all 3 are placed, you get a new set of 3.
• You cannot turn blocks. They come in different orientations, and you place each one exactly as shown.
• Fill an entire row or column to clear it. If several rows and columns fill up at the same time, they all clear together.
• If no remaining block fits, you can use one revive per run or finish the game. After the revive, the next no-fit state ends the run.

• Drag a block from the tray onto the board with your mouse or finger.
• While you drag, the board previews where the block will land and which lines it will clear.
• Release to place it. If the spot is not valid, the block goes back to the tray.
• Use the speaker button to turn sound on or off.

To play this site’s browser game on a computer, open this page and use the board above. No account or app installation is needed.

This is a browser alternative inspired by Block Blast, with its own rules and scoring. For Hungry Studio’s original app, use the separate store download links. Your app progress and score are separate from the game here.

• Every block you place scores 1 point per cell.
• Clearing lines scores 10 points for every cell cleared, plus a bonus for clearing several lines at once, multiplied by your current combo.
• Clearing again within 3 placements of your last clear keeps the combo going.
• Clearing the whole board gives a 360-point bonus.
• Placing all three blocks in a tray marked CHALLENGE +200 adds 200 points outside the combo multiplier. A revive clears three rows without awarding points and resets the combo.

The full scoring table and combo rules for this site’s game are in the web-game rules and scoring guide. To plan a difficult set, enter the board and remaining pieces manually in the solver. The solver suggests placements and line clears, rather than calculating this game’s score.

In Block Blast, check all three tray pieces before committing a move. A large piece that cannot fit now may fit after a smaller piece clears a line. “Always place the largest first” is not a rule.

This Block Blast practice position shows how a clear can open space for the next piece. It is a practice diagram, not a promise about the next board you will be dealt. Follow the numbered boards below; rows are counted from the top and columns from the left, starting at 1.

The tray contains a horizontal 1×2 line, a 3×3 square and a 1×1 piece.

1. Put the 1×2 line in row 1, columns 7–8. This finishes and clears row 1.
2. Put the 3×3 square in rows 1–3, columns 1–3. Those cells are now free; rows 2 and 3 become full and clear together.
3. Put the 1×1 piece in row 1, column 4. All three pieces have been placed, so a new tray appears.

If you instead put the 1×1 piece in row 2, column 2 first, it occupies part of the only space that the 3×3 square could use after the first-row clear. The same remaining square then cannot fit. The lesson is to reserve the exact footprint of the difficult piece and use a clear to open it.

• The block returns to the tray: its occupied cells would overlap a block or extend beyond the board. Follow the placement preview and release only when the whole shape fits. A rejected drop does not place a block or earn points.
• A large empty area still rejects a piece: count its width and height. Nine scattered empty cells are not a 3×3 space; the entire shape must fit in one position, in its displayed orientation.
• One tray piece has no place yet: check whether either of the other pieces can clear a line to make room. The game checks all remaining pieces, not only the one you tried to drag.
• Nothing in the tray fits: choose the one available revive or end the run. A revive removes the three fullest rows, retains your score and deals a fresh tray, but adds no clear points and resets the combo. After you have used it, another no-fit state ends the game.
• A reload did not restore the run: saves are local to this browser. A different browser or device will not share them; clearing site data, unavailable browser storage or an incompatible old save can prevent restoration.

The game here is an independently made browser puzzle inspired by Block Blast. It is an endless score game with mouse and touch dragging, its own scoring formula, a one-use revive and occasional trays marked CHALLENGE +200. A new run can begin with a partly filled opening board. Hungry Studio’s app is a separate product; its Adventure levels and Daily Puzzle modes are not available here. Use the rules on this page for the game above, and keep app scores separate when comparing records.

Use the site-specific scoring examples and combo walkthrough to understand the score display. For a crowded board, the placement helper accepts manual input of the board and 1–3 remaining pieces.

For a screenshot from the original app, the helper can try automatic recognition of a full portrait blue 8×8 layout. Check and correct the detected cells and pieces before following the steps. Other layouts can be entered manually; this site’s screenshots have not been validated for automatic recognition. The helper does not reproduce app scoring or predict the next tray.

Knowing the Block Blast shapes helps you keep room for the pieces that are hardest to fit.

Lines also come vertically. A 1×5 line needs 5 free cells in a straight row or column, so keep at least one long gap open.

The 3×3 square is the largest block (9 cells). It is often the hardest block to fit, so try to keep a 3×3 space free.

There is also a single 1×1 block, which is handy for plugging a one-cell hole.

1. Plan all 3 blocks before placing the first. The order matters: placing one block can clear a line and open space for the next.
2. Keep a big open area. Leave room for a 3×3 square and a 1×5 line whenever you can.
3. Avoid single-cell holes. A hole surrounded on all sides can only be filled by a 1×1 block and blocks the whole row and column.
4. Build along the edges. Filling edges and corners first keeps the middle open for large blocks.
5. Set up several lines at once. Multi-line clears earn a line bonus. Weigh that bonus against your combo and the space you need for the next move.

1. Parallel lines: Fill several neighboring rows or columns to the same gap, then clear them together with a line block.
2. Cross clears: Prepare a row and a column that share one empty cell. A single block in that cell clears both.
3. Keep the chain alive: Leave one almost-finished line ready so you can clear again within 3 placements and keep the combo multiplier growing.

1. Look for any placement that clears a line, even a single one, to win back space.
2. Check the largest block’s space first. If it cannot fit yet, use a smaller piece to clear a line and open its footprint; otherwise protect that space before using small pieces.
3. Avoid moves that split the open space into small, separate pockets.

Is this the official Block Blast game? No. This is an independently made browser puzzle inspired by Block Blast. It is not affiliated with Hungry Studio and uses its own rules and scoring. For the original app, see the app guide.

Can I play on my phone? Yes. Drag blocks with your finger in a mobile browser, or use your mouse on a computer.

Do I need to install anything? No. This site’s game runs directly in your browser, with no download or account required. The original mobile app is a separate installation.

Is it free? Yes, the web version on this site is free to play.

Can I rotate blocks? No. Place each block in the orientation shown in the tray.

Is my progress saved? Your current run, best score and sound setting are saved in this browser. Reload to resume a saved run; its save is cleared when the game ends. Saves do not sync across devices or with the app, and clearing site data or restricted browser storage can prevent restoration.

When does my combo reset? After three consecutive placements without clearing a line. You can make two non-clearing placements and then clear to continue the combo. See the worked combo example.

What can I do when no blocks fit? Use the one revive available per run, or finish the game. A revive clears three rows without awarding points, keeps your score and resets the combo. The next no-fit state ends the run.
